A new downtown restaurant came one step closer to opening Thursday afternoon when the Watertown Board of Adjustment unanimously approved a conditional use request for the property located at 101 Broadway Street North
That’s the location of the Guest House Hotel. The hotel occupies the west side of the building, and a restaurant is being planned for the east side.
Greyci Sanchez requested the conditional use request to sell beer and wine in a restaurant she plans to open there. The board OK’d the permit on a 5-0 vote. Three board members were absent from the meeting.
The space in the Guest House building has been home to several restaurants over the years. Sanchez plans to call her restaurant “Caprichito’s Latin Food” and feature dishes from her home country of Honduras.
Sanchez was a restaurateur in Honduras. She moved to Watertown about three years ago. Caprichito’s will be her first restaurant in the U.S. She said she hopes to open later this year.
