The Watertown Area Chamber of Commerce held its annual Celebration & Dessert Auction Thursday night at the Watertown Event Center’s Glacial Lakes Ballroom.
The event featured hors d’oeuvres, many fundraising games and contests, and music by the Dueling Duo.
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of the annual awards given by the Chamber. The number of awards was trimmed to five this year, down from 10 in previous years.
Toby Lindner of Lindner Dock & Lift Services was named the Watertown Businessman of the Year. Other nominees were Justin Starr of Justin’s Lawn and Tree Service, and Dustin Flatten of Active Heating.
The Businesswoman of the Year award went to Sister Barb Younger of The Village of Harmony Hill. Other nominees were Laura Heathcote, executive director of the Watertown Area United Way, and Lisa Converse, owner of Charcuterie Element.
The Rookie Business of the Year award was won by Lindsey Jungers of Jungers Farm Butchery. Others nominated for that award were Les Schwab Tires and Elevate IV.
The Spirit of Watertown Award was won by Sam Mooney of Dakotaland Federal Credit Union. Other nominees were Julie Kneeland, co-owner of Glass Products, Inc. and director of the Watertown Area Home Builders Association; and Jamie Mack, executive director of The Goss Opera House.
The 2024 Ambassador of the Year was Laycee Gamber of County Fair Foods.
