The City of Watertown has announced several closures and schedule changes related to the New Year’s holiday.
City Hall, the Watertown Regional Landfill, the Parks & Recreation Fieldhouse, Watertown Regional Library, and Bramble Park Zoo will all be closed on Thursday, January 1, 2026.
The Prairie Lakes Wellness Center will be open from 7 a.m. to noon on Wednesday, December 31, and will be closed all of Thursday.
All facilities will resume regular hours on Friday, January 2.
Thursday garbage routes will be moved to Friday, January 2.
Christmas trees will continue to be collected on regular garbage days until January 8. Trees must be unbagged and free of decoration. After January 8, trees may still be taken to the landfill; however, a fee will apply.
Also, until January 8, the green waste containers, normally used for yard waste, can be used for extra holiday waste. These will be picked up on normal collection days.
