The current executive director of the Marshall, Minn., YMCA has been hired by the City of Watertown as superintendent of the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena.
Tom Bolin will oversee the administration, leadership, and day-to-day operations of the new ice arena, including the management of personnel, programs, and overall facility maintenance.

Tom Bolin
Bolin was with the Marshall YMCA for just over 12 years. Prior to that, he was director of the Kandiyohi County Area Family YMCA in Wilmar, Minn., for 10 years. He studied at Minnesota State University in Mankato.
He told the Watertown Current he was excited to begin his duties.
“It’s a fabulous opportunity with the new facility in a community that has worked for many years to bring it to town,” he said. “I’ve been to Watertown many times over the years and have visited the Glacial Lakes area many times for hunting and fishing.”
He and his wife, Marilyn, will be moving to Watertown soon. The couple have two grown daughters, one living is Sioux Falls and the other studying for her doctorate at St. Catherine University in St. Paul, Minn.
Under the leadership of Parks and Recreation Director Dusty Rodiek, Tom will oversee the planning, coordination, and execution of all ice arena activities. He will manage the budget, communicate program information to the public, and implement goals to ensure the continued success of the ice arena.
“Tom’s history of successful facility management will be a tremendous asset as we establish the Prairie Lakes Ice Arena as a premier ice facility for the region,” said Rodiek.
Bolin will begin his new duties in November.
