NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING BY THE BOARD OF ADJUSTMENT
ON A CONDITIONAL USE PERMIT

Notice is hereby given that a public hearing will be held by the Codington County Board of Adjustment on Monday, May 18, 2026, at 7:30 pm to consider in full or in part the following proposed Conditional Use Permit Application:

  • A Conditional Use Permit Pursuant to Section 3.04.02.44 Existing Farmstead Exemption. The applicants, Nathan and Kathy Meland, are requesting to create a lot less than 35 acres (7.9 acres) at the site of an existing farmstead for purposes of constructing a residence. Property is located in a portion of SE1/4, Section 5-T119N-R55W, Codington County.

All persons interested therein may appear and be heard before the Board of Adjustment at said hearing. Please note, only comments applicable to the requested (above described) amendment will be allowed.  All application information, reports, and written comments will be posted at or before 4:30 p.m. on Friday, May 15, 2026 on the planning and zoning page of the Codington County Website at: https://www.codington.org/zoning-office/. Written comments may be filed with the Zoning Officer at 1910 W. Kemp Avenue by noon on or before Friday, May 15, 2026.
