Faye J. Schaack, 90, Watertown
Faye Jean Schaack passed away peacefully at the age of 90 on Saturday, Nov. 22, 2025, in Watertown, with her children by her side.
A Celebration of Life will be held at Wight and Comes Funeral Chapel in Watertown on Monday, Dec. 1, 2025. Visitation from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. with a service to start at 1 p.m. Interment will be at the Graceland Cemetery in rural Henry.
Faye Jean Schaack, daughter of George and Mabel (Alleckson) Henricks was born on August 2, 1935, at Memorial Hospital in Watertown. She graduated from Henry High School in 1954.
Faye was united in marriage to James Schaack on July 23, 1955, in Minneota, Minn. They farmed near Henry, raising their 4 children. In 1982 they moved near Watertown where Jim worked for Arrow Truck Line and Faye worked at Quadee Rubber. After her retirement, because she liked to always be busy, she worked for ServiceMaster and enjoyed painting apartments for Wayne. Jim passed away in 2009 after 54 years together. Jim and Faye made it a lifelong goal to instill in their children the importance of lending a helping hand and the value of a hard day’s work.
As kids we looked forward to coming home from school to fresh rolls or fried bread! Everyone was fond of her homemade bread and goulash. Faye enjoyed pinochle and dancing. There was always a song in her heart, and she found immense pleasure in playing her guitar and singing, especially with her brother Ray. Her greatest joy was following her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren to rodeos, dance recitals or to whatever they were involved in.
Faye’s memory will be forever cherished by her children, Linda (Greg) Fuller, Belle Fourche, Lori (Jeff) Wensing, Florence, Tim (Paula) Schaack, Edgemont, Lisa (Kevin) Kannas, Hayti.
Blessed to call her grandma: Justin (Angie) Fuller of White Rock, N.M., Kristyn (Martie) Haines of Faith, Jennie (Dillon) Glines of Buffalo, Jesicah (Troy) Halfaday of Watertown, Cody (Emily) Wensing of Orchard, Neb., Kacie (Kyle) Crom of Watertown, Tel, Treg and Tres Schaack of Texas, Whitney (Clint) Harper, of Sturgis; Josh (Koel) of Barker, of Edgemont, Cole (Sara) Kannas of Hayti, Kendra Kannas Schmeling (Elton) of Watertown.
Great-Grandchildren: Jordyn and Logan Fuller, Trey Fuller, Rekkyn, Kutler and Wylder Haines, Letty, Jorja and Maggie Glines, Ian and Emilyn Halfaday, Caridee, Cray and Ellie Wensing, Hailey, Jackson, Caleb and Tate Crom, Brylee Dillon, Stella Harper and Blair Barker, Cash, Cora, Colter and Cru Kannas. Sister, Blondie Nogelmier of Watertown, twin brother, Frank (Toots) Henricks of Oregon, sisters-in-law Joyce (Marvin) McGillvary of Henry, Sandra Schaack of Henry, Jolene Miller of Hanska, Minn., brothers-in-law Jean (Vikki) Schaack of Brookings, and Jeff (Jamie) Schaack of Henry.
She is preceded in death by her husband, Jim; her parents, George and Mabel Henricks; In-laws, Albert and Henrietta Schaack; brothers, Jug, Les, Ray, Don and Wynn Henricks; sisters, Evelyn Skells, Salley Foss and Mabel Bach; and daughter-in-law Carrie Voelsch Schaack.
