Francis Cadotte, 45 of Enemy Swim
Memorial Service for Francis “Apple” Cadotte 45, of Enemy Swim, will be held on Friday, Dec. 5, 2025, at 1 p.m. at the St. James Guild Hall, Enemy Swim, with Fr. Conrad Ciesel, Deacon Bitsey Ciesel and the St. James Episcopal Lay Readers officiating. Urn Bearer will be Sheila Rock-Cadotte. Pallbearers will be Robert Cadotte Jr., Calvin Cadotte, Justin Cadotte, Jerrel Cadotte, B.J. Cadotte III, Cheyenne LeBeau, Nathan Rondell, Curtis Szoktor, Shiloh Bonga, and Joel Sanchez. Honorary Pallbearers will be Val Augustson, Elroy “Munson” LeBeau, Alena Rock-Cadotte, Natalie Miller, Ramona Roy-Cadotte, Angela Roy, Gloria Cadotte, Angela Cadotte, Robin & Smokey Bowen, Averil Cadotte, Noreen Iyarpeya, Geraldine and Libby Locke, Wakiya & Valorie TwoHearts, Talbert & Marcella Cutt, Carmen Cutt, Verdell OwnsPipe, BJ Ramey, Danny RedHorn, Jason Seda, and All of his high school friends in Ft. Yates, N.D., friends and relative. There will be an all-night Wake Service on Thursday, Dec. 4, 2025, starting at 7 p.m. at the St. James Guild Hall. Inurnment will be in the St. James Episcopal Cemetery, Waubay, at a later date. The Cahill Funeral Chapel is in charge of funeral arrangements.
Francis “Apple” Cadotte was born on November 27, 1980, in Minneapolis, Minn. to Robert Cadotte Sr. and Irene Rondell. He attended school in Ft. Yates, N.D. He lived in Minneapolis, Minn., Ft. Yates, N.D., and Enemy Swim. He worked as a cook at various places. Francis was a member of the St. James Episcopal Church, Enemy Swim. Francis enjoyed cooking, listening to music, watching basketball (Timberwolves), and dancing. The Minnesota Vikings were his favorite football team. He passed away on Saturday, Nov. 29, 2025, at Avera McKennan, Sioux Falls.
He is survived by his children, Sheila Rock-Cadotte and Alena Rock-Cadotte; grandson, Isaiah Rock-Cadotte; Mother Irene Rondell; brothers Robert Cadotte Jr. and Calvin Cadotte; nephews BJ, Ethan, and Desmond Cadotte, and Noah Williams; nieces Ramona Roy-Cadotte and Angel Roy and numerous cousins.
Francis is preceded in death by his father Robert Cadotte Sr.; paternal grandparents William and Julia Cadotte; Maternal grandparents Calvin and Nellie Rondell.
