Ace Lammers, a 14-year-old Henry youth, earned the title of Reserve World Champion All-Around Cowboy during the recent National Little Britches Junior Boy’s Rodeo. That means Lammers placed second out of 485 total competitors. The reserve champion is the runner-up to the grand champion
National Little Britches Rodeo took place in Guthrie, Okla., from June 29 through July 5.
Lammers also placed first out of 116 competitors in Junior Boy’s Flag Racing and first out of 129 competitors in Junior Boy’s Goat tying. He and his partner, Brylee Redlin from South Shore, placed 13 out of 220 in Ribbon Roping. Lammers and his brother, Reo, also took 59th and 60th place in Junior Boys Team Roping.
Ace Lammers was the Reserve World Champion at the NLBR in Guthrie, Okla.
Redlin placed 22nd out of 234 in Junior Girls Barrel Racing, 36th out of 172 in Junior Girls Goat Tying, 41st out of 120 in Junior Girls Breakaway, and 104th out of 213 in Junior Girls Pole Bending.
Redlin placed 35th all-around out of 384 competitors.
His horse, named Ima Spanish Girl Two, was recognized as the 2024 Classic Equine Jr. Boy’s Horse of the Year.
Lammers has won a ton of gear for rodeoing such as hats, jeans and other clothing. He has also won scholarships.
“He’s been riding horses since he’s been old enough to hold on,” said Lammers’ mother Tina. “He’s been rodeoing since he was 6.”
Lammers’ said his next step in his rodeo career is to rope calves in pro rodeo. He said he practices every night, with very few nights off.
His grand vision for his rodeo career is to move on to the National Finals Rodeo, but first he has to make it through high school and win some national titles there until he turns 18 and becomes eligible for the NFR.

What advice would Lammers give to other aspiring young rodeo competitors? “Work hard every night and every day,” he said Lammers. “Never give up; everything’s possible.”
The National Little Britches Rodeo Association was founded in 1952 for kids aged 5 to 18. In 2021, the NLBRA hosted 1,613 contestants, who competed for prizes such as scholarships and awards valued at more than $380,000. The NLBRA is the largest youth rodeo held under one roof.
