
The GPL Panthers celebrate after besting the Castlewood Warriors in three sets.
The Panthers of Great Plains Lutheran High School started out their homecoming with 16 unanswered points in Tuesday’s volleyball match against Castlewood. Great Plains would go onto defeat the Warriors in three sets for USA Day. Following the game, the students and fans watched a fireworks display on the practice football field. This was followed by the “Burning of the GPL”

The Burning of the GPL
On Thursday, the Volleyball team hosts Waverly-South Shore. Friday is “Panther for a Day” and features a 2:30 p.m. pep rally, in which the homecoming royalty will be announced. The Football team hosts Britton-Hecla, in a game with conference title implications. Junior Varsity plays at 4:30 p.m., with Varsity kick-off at 7 p.m. On Saturday, Great Plains hosts the varsity teams from Milbank, Tiopsa Zina, and Britton-Helca in a volleyball tournament. The week concludes with a homecoming dance on Saturday night.
