James “Jim” Johnson, age 74, of Clear Lake

James “Jim” Johnson, age 74, of Clear Lake, SD went to be with the Lord and Savior on Sunday, October 27, 2024 at his home in Clear Lake, SD. Funeral service will be held at 11:00am on Thursday, October 31st at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church in Clear Lake, SD. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church. Burial will be at the Lakeview Cemetery with military honors. Houseman Funeral Home of Clear Lake, SD is entrusted with the arrangements.

James Earl Johnson was born on August 15, 1950 in Sioux City, Iowa to Roy Earl and Nellie Agnes (Robbins) Johnson. He was baptized at Trible Methodist Church in 1951. As a young man he enjoyed working on cars with his dad and hunting and fishing. He attended many schools in Sioux City but finished his education in the United States Army. He served in Vietnam and Germany. When he came home he attended WITC and worked at various jobs, both mechanical and trucking. He worked at OFC Schimdt before becoming disabled in 2012. Jim married Tenna Brown on May 21, 1977 in Elk Point, SD. To this union Mike Davies, Jeri Davies and Pam Johnson were born. Tenna passed away June 22, 2007.

Jim then moved to Clear Lake, SD and loved feeding his birds, squirrels and bunnies. He became a member of St. Paul’s Lutheran Church.

Those left to cherish his life are his daughter Jeri (Chip) Schultz; sons, Mike Davies, Scott (Nancy) Greene, Jeremy Greene; grandkids: Jennifer Baker, Shayla Schultz, Jaci Schultz, James B. Johnson, Joe, Briana, Ryan, Andrew, Darren, Connor, Brittany and Jacob Greene; great-grandkids: Avery, Leighton and Hazyzlee Baker, Montana and Jacob Schultz, Lyla Johnson, Aubrey, Colt, Levi, Dominic Greene.

Those waiting to greet him to his heavenly home are his parents and grandparents; Tenna; his daughter, Pam; his sister, Bonnie Harelson; brother-in-law, Vernon Brown; his companion, Linda Dexter and many aunts, uncles and his fur baby Oscar.
