ENTITLED SPRING WEIGHT RESTRICTIONS 2026
Whereas roadways in Lake Township are subject to destruction during the spring thawing cycle due to heavy vehicles or equipment traveling over said roads and this destruction causes safety issues to the traveling public as well as added costs to the township.
Therefore, be it ordained by the board of supervisors of Lake Township, Codington County, that all Lake Township roads will follow the same spring weight restrictions and time restrictions as Codington County for calendar year 2026.
The penalty for driving vehicles or equipment exceeding said weight limits established by the township board pursuant to these sections will be a minimum of $500, or cost of repair to said road, whichever is higher.
