Linda “Cupcake” Louise (Graf) Schuller was born on December 24, 1946, in Watertown, South Dakota, to Edward and Phyllis Graf. The eldest of four children, Linda grew up in Watertown, where she graduated from high school in 1965. She furthered her education at the Lake Area Vocational and Technical School.
On April 7, 1966, Linda welcomed her daughter, Jennifer, followed by her son, Chad, on September 25, 1969. Linda worked as a flight attendant for Republic Airlines, Northwest Airlines, and later Delta Airlines for 17 years. Her career allowed her to travel the world, and she often captivated her family with stories of faraway places and fascinating adventures.
In 1990, Linda married Mike Schuller on May 5, and they made their home in Chanhassen, MN before settling on the shores of Lake Kampeska in Watertown. Together, they built a beautiful life and shared a passion for travel, particularly cruises. Linda and Mike took more than 60 cruises, exploring countless destinations and savoring the beauty of the world.
After moving back to Watertown, Cupcake found joy in spending time at Salon 2000 and later Salon Lux, where she built lasting friendships with the stylists and clients and lent a helping hand wherever she could. The salon became a cherished part of her life, offering her both community and connection.
After the passing of her beloved husband Mike, Cupcake grew even closer to her nephew Nathan, his wife Renee, and their children Madaline, Henry and Lula. She became a constant presence in their lives, sharing in family gatherings and special moments. Nathan and Renee were always there to support her, offering comfort and companionship in the years following Mike’s passing. Their bond was a source of great comfort to Cupcake, and she cherished the time spent with them.
Known for her warm presence at family gatherings, Linda always arrived with something delicious—whether it was a homemade pie, a generous shrimp tray, or a crowd-pleasing dip. Her hugs were legendary despite her petite frame; and her loving spirit will be deeply missed.
In July, Linda entered hospice care and on October 5, 2024 she passed away peacefully from natural causes, surrounded by her family at The Village at Harmony Hill in Watertown.
Linda is survived by her children, Jennifer (Tom) Sweeney of Shawnee, KS, and Chad (Nacole) Lehman of Groton, SD; her brothers Bob (Sherry) Graf of Watertown, SD, and Jim (Jane) Graf of Eden Prairie, MN; four grandchildren: Alex (Jon) Kahnke of Florence, SD, Brittany (Marcia) Welk-Allen of Chicago, IL, Chris (Ashley) Aslesen of Gwinner, ND, and Connor Lehman of Groton, SD; as well as ten great-grandchildren and several beloved nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Phyllis Graf; her husband, Michael Schuller; and her brother, John Graf.
Linda’s presence, generosity, and boundless love will be remembered always.
