A Minnesota man died and another man was seriously injured in a two-vehicle crash Friday evening, December 26, near Arlington.
The names of those involved have not been released pending notification of family members.
Preliminary crash information indicates the driver of a 2016 Mercedes-Benz Metris, a 62-year-old man from Faribault, Minn., was traveling east on U.S. Highway 14 near mile marker 399 just after 7 p.m. and crossed the center line, colliding head-on with a 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 2500 in the westbound lane.
The driver of the Mercedes died at the scene. The driver of the Chevrolet, a 37-year-old man from Huron, sustained serious, but non-life-threatening, injuries. Both men were wearing seat belts.
The South Dakota Highway Patrol is investigating the crash. All information released so far is only preliminary.
