Seven Watertown wrestlers captured championship titles at the South Dakota Wrestling Coaches State AAU Wrestling Tournament held March 20-21 in Sioux Falls.
Abigail Johnson took the 49-pound title in Girls 6 and Under, and Morgan Johnson took the gold in 61 pounds in Girls 8 and Under. In the Junior Girls Division, Olivia Anderson was the 120-pound champion and Eden Hach took the 235-pound title.
On the boys’ side, Jonah Anderson took the crown at 120 pounds in 14 and Under. In the Junior Division, Braylon Schell won the 100-pound title, and Shea Richter won at 126 pounds.
Over 30 wrestlers from Watertown participated in the AAU tournament.

In Girls 6 and Under, Macklynn Mages placed sixth at 46 pounds, and Priscilla Chen placed eighth at 43 pounds. Olivia Garvey also participated.
Layla Hach placed third at 50 pounds in Girls 8 and Under, with Lauren Garvey placing sixth at 53 pounds.
In Girls 10 and Under, Thalia Chen placed sixth at 65 pounds. Sloane Gruenwald also participated.
Heavyweight Gabby Hach placed third in Girls 12 and Under, with Mycah Zuhlsdorf placing eighth at 110 pounds. Berkelie Alverson also participated.
In Girls 14 and Under, 98-pound Genesis Anderson placed second. Lily Lindsey took fourth place at 100 pounds, and Nessa Anderson took third in 110 pounds in Girls 16 and Under. Brooke Grajczyk placed second at 140 pounds in Junior Girls.
In Boys 10 and Under, 96-pound Caleb Mitchell and 89-pound Caden Chen both placed fourth. Tell Johnson and Clayton Kittelson also participated.
Eli Engelhart placed third at 60 pounds in 12 and Under Boys. Tate Snell placed seventh at 68 pounds. Oliver Umlauf took second at 82 pounds, and heavyweight Leo Pottebaum placed fourth. Ryder Rieffenberger and Nash Gruenwald also participated.
Leo Walraven took fifth at 105 pounds in 14 and Under Boys. Grayson Decker also participated.
In Boys 16 and Under, Kaleb Khalil placed third at 215 pounds. Landry Weiss also participated.
In Junior Boys, Max Stroup took fifth at 138 pounds. Kutler Swenson placed fourth at 150 pounds. Jensen Wientjes also participated.
