Sharon Kathrine (Schmieding) Street was born on September 17, 19962 in Madison, Minnesota to parents Alvin and Grace (Sjolie) Schmieding. She was baptized into the Catholic Faith at St. Michael’s Catholic Church, Madison, Minnesota. She attended grade school and high school in Madison, Minnesota and one year in Bellingham School.

After high school, Sharon (Sissy) had several different jobs throughout her life. She worked for the Big Stone Cheese Factory, Big Stone City, SD, FOK Hardware, Milbank, SD, part time waitress/bartender at Charlies’ Bar in Revillo, SD for many years. Her last job was being Manager of the Salvation Army Clothing Store in Watertown, SD. She loved it there and worked there until she was diagnosed with a brain disease, frontal lobe dementia in 2019. She was forced to quit her job she so loved and moved in with her sister Joan and brother-in-law Jeff Sime. We as a family were so blessed that they were willing to take care of her so she wouldn’t have to go to a nursing home as the disease progressed. Gail, her younger sister, also spent many hours helping to take care of Sissy. She loved to work with her hands making many arts and crafts which kept her brother Alvin busy cutting wood for her many projects. Sissy was an excellent cook and baker. The family loved it when she made anything. (If you asked for a recipe, we think she always left a little something out.) She would host the holiday as we knew the food would be awesome. She even enjoyed a trip to the Casino for a little fun.

Death came to Sharon on September 13, 2024, at her sister’s home in Watertown. She had reached the age of 61 years, 11 months and 26 days.
