South Shore to see tax increase

South Shore’s general sales tax and use tax are both increasing by one percent.

A news release from the South Dakota Department of Revenue announced that the city will be changing from 1% general sales tax rate to 2% beginning July 1.

According to the release, under the South Dakota Codified Law, municipalities are authorized to establish or adjust municipal tax rates on either January 1 or July 1 each year.
