By Watertown Current - April 23, 2026 in The Town Board for the Town of Florence met on April 6th 2026 at 6:30pm. Present were President Fischer, Trustee Tschakert, Trustee Deville, P Callan, M Rossow and Finance Officer M Tschakert. The agenda was approved by Tschakert and second by Deville. All Aye.
Reading of the minutes, Tschakert approved and Deville second. All Aye.
Old Business: There was nothing new to report on old business.
New Business: Sanitation prices have increased starting May 1st 2026, due to the rising cost of doing business with George’s Santition. City Wide clean up has been scheduled for May 16th 2026 from 8am to 3pm. This will be for RESIDENTS ONLY and a list of items that will not be accepted will be published and displayed around town. The accounts at Minnwest Bank will be updated to show Finance Officer Tschakert on all documents. A copy of the yard ordinance will be sent out to residents that have a yard needing attention.
Trustee Report: Work is being done on a leak on the water tower, and a quote will be coming to have the tower cleaned.
Maintenance Report: The town mower has been serviced and the FFD will be contacted regarding flushing out the culverts around town as well as the fire hydrants.
Finance Officer Report: It was reported that letters will be sent out to residents regarding past due water bills.
Finance Report was approved by Deville and second by Tschakert. All Aye. General Fund 9,922.93; Town CD 16,922.00; Water & Sewer 354,969.18; Sewer CD 6,372.53; Water CD 6,373.15; Sewer Construction 7,119.18; Water Construction 75,683.55 and Sewer Reserve 45,596.38 for a total of 522,958.90. Receipts from the session Property Taxes 550.16; Metered Water 3597.08; Surcharge 2921.00; O&M 889.00; Sewer Charge 2430.46; Sewer Surcharge 3780.00 and Sanitation 3175.85.
