Watertown High School announced the homecoming royalty candidates on Wednesday. Among those nominated by the senior class are “Guardian of the Gold” candidates Grace Corey, Isabella Horning, Elizabeth Rieffenberger, and Marli Wadsworth. “Proctor of the Purple” candidates are Noah Carlson, Max Dylla, David Lechner, and Devon Snyder. The entire high school student body will now vote for the winners. The three nominated by the football team as “Champion of the Arrows” are Treyton Himmerich, Jayden Lambert, and Spencer Wientjes.
The announcements kick off Arrow Days, which gets into full swing Sept. 16. The annual “Legend of the Arrows” will be performed on Monday, Sept. 16 at 7:30 p.m. at the Watertown Civic Arena, with the royalty winners announced following the presentation. On Thursday, the annual Powder Puff Football game between the Junior and Senior girls will be played at the Watertown Stadium. This will be followed by the burning of the “W.”
Both Monday’s and Thursday’s events have an admission of $3.
Purple and Gold Day on Friday, Sept. 20, begins with a pep rally at the high school starting at 11 a.m. The homecoming parade begins at 2 p.m., departing from the high school. The parade route is unchanged from previous years; moving to the west along Kemp Avenue before turning south at Second Street and going east on Second Avenue South. The parade ends at the site of the first high school in Watertown, behind 200 Maple Place and the Town View apartments. A tailgate party, hosted by the Arrow Education Foundation, is planned before the football game on Friday evening. Due to new stadium under construction beside the high school, this is the last homecoming game that will be played at the Watertown Stadium. The game starts at 7 p.m. against the Mitchell Kernels.

Arrow Days 2024 will be the last homecoming game played at the Watertown Stadium
